CHARLOTTE, NC – Join Charlotte Ballet as they showcase a number of digital performances for free on YouTube amidst pandemic.

As of November 2020, the Charlotte Ballet has uploaded eight performances onto its website. The “Home with Charlotte Ballet” videos are hosted on their unlisted YouTube uploads and can be accessed for free by accessing their website here. These performances are mostly short videos shot around the neighborhood, from the confines of these performances’ homes, or were digital recordings of pre-pandemic performances. Full performances of Helen Pickett’s “IN Cognito,” Peter Chu’s “The Rite of Spring: Reinvented Project – Rights,” Sarah Hayes Harkins’ “Essence of Numbers,” and Christopher Stuart’s “Dispersal” They have also uploaded never-before-seen rehearsal footage for “IN Cognito,” an exclusive content that can only be accessed during the duration of this program.

By uploading these performances, the “Home with Charlotte Ballet” initiative aims to keep their dancers and ballet community engaged and inspired despite having to mostly stay at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is also a part of The Resilience Fund, an ongoing fundraising pool set up by Charlotte Ballet to support dancers, choreographers, and staff over at the organization.

By donating to The Resilience Fund, you will be able to support every activity done by the organization, such as training young dancers, conduct their first-ever live audience performance since March 2020 called “A Fairy-Tailored Nutcracker,” provide digital content for “Home with Charlotte Ballet,” and support the return of these dancers to in-person classes, rehearsals, and performances.

To support The Resilience Fund, visit their website here or contact the organization’s development office at (704) 414-2783.
