McAdenville, NC - Downtown McAdenville has a slow flow kayaking attraction along the South Fork of Catawba River. The gentle current is fit for people with little kayaking experience.

This kayaking trip starts at the kayak launch at McAdenville South Fork River Greenway. You will be given safety talks and an introduction before beginning the trip, and then off you go. This is a self-guided trip that lasts for about an hour. The trip is perfect for families and beginners.

You will get a glimpse of the wildlife surrounding the river along with other lovely views. On a good day, you will be able to spot the Great Blue Heron looking for a meal and yellow-bellied sliders resting on branches. The trip will end in Downton Cramerton.

For those who come from the Cramerton Goat Island Access, Shuttle rides are available to take you to the launch point, or back to your cars parked at McAdenville South Fork River Greenway after finishing the trip.

You will get a kayak, paddle, life jacket, and a shuttle ride for $30. McAdenville or Cramerton ID will get you a $5 off.

The trip don't offer reservations, so you can just come directy to the place to join the slow flow kayaking. Don't forget to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats to fend off the heat.

While you are in Downtown Cramerton, make sure to spend some times to enjoy the town. The Goat Island park is only steps walk away over the bridge or grab some salad or sandwich at Doffer's or Mayworth's Public house to fill your energy after the trip.
