CHARLOTTE, NC- Charlotte Football Club is holding training sessions intensively for its players in preparation for CLTFC’s inaugural season. The team members are earning valuable game time by sparring with other clubs.
This summer, Christian Fuchs, a former Premier League champion with Leicester City, is focusing on maintaining his fitness level. In addition, to get ready for the upcoming inaugural season, he also working on getting to know the coach, the players, and the city.
“I spoke to [Independence Head Coach Mike Jeffries] a couple of times already and he seems to really know what he wants from his players, from the team” Fuchs explained.
While Fuchs is adapting to the club, Riley McGree has been busy with his senior debut for Australian National Team in Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Playing as the attacking role, McGree and his team won over Argentina by 2-0 at full time. After Olympics, McGree will return to Birmingham City until the end of the season.
After signing in with Charlotte FC at the end of June, Adam Armour has been sharpening his skill by playing for Charlotte Independence, alongside his fellow Carolina native Brandt Bronico. He mentioned going home back to the Carolinas has given him a strong support system from his family and friends.
Midfielder Sergio Ruiz is now helping the team during his remaining time before starting his second loan campaign with Las Palmas. The 26-year-old player showed an impressive stat in 2020-2021 in which he notched five goals and six assists in Las Palmas’ 42 games.
Last but not least, things are going a bit different with Jan Sobocinski. The defender just announced his new status as newly-married last June. After his wedding, Sobocinski will line up for Łódź in the 2021-2022 campaign before he arrives in Charlotte.
