CHARLOTTE, NC- Arnoldas Kulboka has officially joined the Charlotte Hornets. The Lithuanian player sealed the deal of two-way contracts earlier this week.
After completing all formalities, Kulboka is prepared to compete in his third NBA Summer League scheduled for this Sunday evening in Las Vegas. Summer League Head Coach Dutch Gaitley noticed his potential and will likely allot him up to 45 days on the NBA roster.
"I think his basketball IQ is very high. His shot looks very, very good, and then naturally as a European player, he’s a great passer,” explained Gaitley.
After starting his professional basketball at the age of 16, Kulboka exhibits impressive progress. In 2020, he recorded an average of 9.2 points on 43.5% of shooting. He also got 4.0 rebounds in 33 Liga ACB Appearances. Kulboka is noted for his 42.5% three-point with 65 scored out of 153 attempts. These three-point attempts of Kulboka marked him to rank third amongst the 26 ACB players who attempt at least 150 shots from long distances.
Signing with the Hornets is a dream come true for Kulboka. His photo wearing a Charlotte Hornets Starter Jacket back in his younger day is now circulating the internet. Kulboka revealed signing with Hornets is a big milestone for his career but he chooses not to get distracted and focus on the training towards Summer League
“I think I’m going to fit in right here and always be ready to shoot the ball. I’m ready to come over and bring what I can do over here,” said Kulboka.
