Pumpkin Hot Chocolate | Easy Recipe | Fall Drink Idea

The Ellison Homestead

This recipe tastes like fall in a cup! Whether you drink it after a long day of pumpkin carving and apple picking, or take it to go as you walk through your neighborhood taking in the fall color. This is a perfect fall drink for you! The best part? You can enjoy it and know exactly what ingredients are in it, when ordering pumpkin drinks from restaurants some of them don't even have real pumpkin in it. This is as real as it gets! I hope you love this recipe and would love if you'd leave a comment telling me what your favorite fall food is!

  • 2 cups milk (I used whole, but use whatever you like!)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

This is an easy recipe to customize and have fun with! Just taste it as you go and add ingredients as necessary. Prefer it extra chocolaty? Add an extra 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. Love cinnamon? Use a whole tablespoon rather than half. This is such a great recipe to make your own and everyone is sure to love it! You can also make this a coffee recipe, by pouring it over a shot or two of espresso, or simply add it to one cup of your favorite coffee!

My favorite part is the garnish, I add whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon, you can also add a cinnamon stick, sprinkle with nutmeg, and add a couple mini chocolate chips to the top.

Thanks for reading! Enjoy!
