Puppy chow, reindeer chow, muddy buddies, the list of names for this yummy treat goes on and on! Whatever you call it, it is a classic and crowd pleaser! Below is the recipe for how I like to make my Peanut Butter Cup Puppy Chow. Leave a comment letting me know what you like to call it and what candy you like to add in!
Ingredients:
12 oz chocolate chex cereal
1 c roasted, light salt peanuts
1.5 c powdered sugar
12 oz melting chocolate
1.5 c peanut butter chocolate chips
10 oz Reese's Pieces
7 oz mini Reese's cups (or 1 c of full size Reese's cups, chopped up)
Instructions:
Melt chocolate and 1 cup of the peanut butter chips
In a large bowl add chex cereal and peanuts. Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal and nuts, then add in the powdered sugar and mix thoroughly. Then cover a baking sheet or your counter with parchment paper and lay the cereal mixture out evenly and allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes so the chocolate can harden.
Add back to the bowl, mix in Reese's pieces, Reese's cups, peanut butter chips, mix again and enjoy!
I store these in a large ziplock bag, but any airtight container will do! This is a great recipe to customize! You can add more candy, different types of candy, if you prefer more of a peanut butter taste you can add an extra cup of peanut butter chips to the melted mixture and a little less chocolate. Have fun with it and make it your own!
