Chef Ellard seeks out a fine dining experience in close proximity to Mount Rushmore National Park. The Mount Rushmore Brewing Company in Custer is about 1/2 hour away, and as Chef Ellard discovers, the food and service are fabulous. On the way Chef stops at the Crazy Horse Monument then proceeds to the Restaurant named Pounding Fathers. The meal is on point and Chef recommends visitors to Mount Rushmore check out the Rushmore Brewing Company if they want an elevated meal as opposed to mediocre tourist food.

When my English friends and I visited the Florida Keys we went on the African Queen in Key Largo. My Dad was a big fan of the movie, as am I, and I thought it would be cool to put his last remains into the ocean from the decks of this famous boat.

Over the course of two weeks around the Summer Solstice they have epic fishing and exploring adventures in and around Port Protection. And of course they catch, prepare, devour and share some of the best food in the world.

In this Overture episode to the series, Return to Port Protection, Mike, Ellard, and Matt go fishing in their skiff in Wooden Wheel Cove. They catch a King Salmon and as Matt is cleaning the catch, a local asks him if he's ever tasted salmon heart. Chef Ellard quickly springs into action frying the heart up and discovering why many people don't throw it away.

Chef Ellard finds himself over the border in Bannf, Alberta, Canada on Canada Day! What's more Canadian than a Beavertail - a delectable pastry based off a Native American flatbread. Loaded with all kinds of sinful things, Beavertails have been spiking Canadians blood sugars since the 70s, but what a ride! Chef Ellard finds himself across the border "deep" into the heart of Sakatchewan...well not really, only about 200 feet actually, to sample a Donair. This uniquely Canadian food, well kind of, can be found throughout Canada and chef Ellard finds out why it's just NOT called a Shwarma. He goes to a donair shop called Marrakesh Donair on the Saskatchewan side of the town of Lloydminster and solves the age old mystery.
