Summer is fast approaching, and so are our summertime visitors from all over the eastern shore board.  We target all species of sharks and stingrays, but this evening all we kept hooking into with each bait drop was one sand tiger shark after another. Be aware that these are federally protected fish so we made sure to quickly un-hook and release them while making sure they were submerged at all times. All photos were taken during the release/un-hooking process.

These GIANT FISH were EVERYWHERE! (Catch-and-release Shark Fishing)

What's going on CATTERNATION! Today I'm coming at you with a throwback from the Bays of New Jersey, incredibly exciting... but also not for the weary-eyed. These GIANT fish test heavy-duty equipment on the daily even from shore, so imagine getting onto a tiny plastic vessel and trying to tame these fish. Be aware that I DO NOT recommend trying this on your own... However, I was younger and more adrenaline crazy back then than I am now. HUGE FISH on TINY KAYAK! (Hunting down Sharks in New Jersey)

What's going on CATTERNATION! Today we're coming at you with the one, and only, Baltimore Angler who is on the hunt for his new PB (personal best) Flathead catfish. A misunderstood species of catfish, this Missouri river basin native has spread rapidly across the eastern United States. While not native to Philadelphia, it has called Philly Dilly it's home for over 20 years. Given their appetite for large lively fish, and their strong fighting spirit, these new comers have been warmly welcomed by many in the fishing community. WHAT is going on CatterNATION! I come to you today with a special guest of the show... the one and only @1rod1reel! In today's episode, Mike and I take you with us on the mighty Potomac River in Washington, DC to pursue the MONSTER catfish that hang out there. While many people pack their rods away, winter can be one of the BEST times of the year to catch monster catfish... and it's often the biggest baits that get absolutely hammered. The one key is patience... and the drive to pursue a slower but quality bite. Come along with his Feel Free Lure 11.5 pedal drive kayak, and my Old Town Salty PDL 120 pedal drive kayak as we explore the river, hook into some piggies, and also eat some GOOD food at the end.

Targeting WINTER CATFISH In Washington D.C. Using KAYAKS (Capitol Catfishing 2022)

Welcome back Catternation. Guess what, winter is ALMOST gone in New Jersey... or is it?

As the winter starts to finalize its grip on the Northeast (especially in New Jersey) many of us fishermen are timing our last ice trips. Remember that you should only go out on at least 4 inches of black ice, or 6-8 inches of white ice. While drilling holes we repeatedly checked to make sure it was thick enough, which I'm glad to inform you it was. 

Today I come at you from Northern New Jersey while on the hunt for a Musky! Really, the boys and I are targeting anything like pickerel, crappie, perch, bass, or even trout... but the Musky is the true trophy. We use Frabill tip-ups to bait up some live bait and also jig up with some tungsten jigs.

Fishing ON TOP of Melting Ice In Northern New Jersey (Last Ice of WINTER 2022?!)

Welcome back CatterNATION! It's good to have you. Today I take you with me to the Jersey Shore (not the one filled with spray tanned italians). No, today we're going down to South Jersey to pursue a very misunderstood summertime visitor. I hope you enjoy!

Catch & Release Shark Fishing in New Jersey!

If there is one species of fish that is given a break in the summer, it's definitely the northern pike. Many consider this fish to be a great cold water sportfish, but let me tell you what, it is also an awesome summer sportfish. These pike hit hard, fight hard, and are a lot of fun to catch. That being said, today we visit one of our Central New Jersey rivers to hunt down these predators. We use medium heavy bass fishing gear and rig up live sunfish as bait. Bat fishing for pike is an awesome way to spend an evening, Thanks for watching and I hope you get to go out and explore Central New Jersey for these predators too!

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen (people of the Catternation)!

Today I take you to one of central New jersey's finest bass fisheries, Lake Assunpink to pursue the first fish in our CNJ line-up. Utilizing affordable equipment, I show you how to easily catch Bluegill (sunfish) and have a blast while doing it.

Gear that I recommend:
- A 500-1000 size spinning reel
- A 5'-6' long Light, Medium-light, or Ultra-light fishing rod
- 2-4lb strength fishing line
- Small fishing bobbers/floats
- Size 6, 8 or 10 Aberdeen hooks
- some nightcrawlers/worms
