President Joe Biden wants to allow illegal aliens to live in national parks using federal funds, according to this report.

Biden has asked Congress for $2.7 billion in border-related funding, including money to create new facilities to house illegal immigrant families as they navigate an “expedited” process to determine whether they will be granted asylum in the U.S. or deported, according to this report.

Additionally, the Washington Examiner reported that the House Natural Resources Committee recently held a hearing to examine the Biden administration’s idea of using federal lands and parks for immigrant camps, and examined the administration’s attempt to permanently alter national parks by permitting the construction of migrant camps on some of America’s most treasured lands.

The hearing was called “Destroying America’s Best Idea: Examining the Biden Administration’s Use of National Park Service Lands for Migrant Camps” and examined the New York policy of housing illegal immigrants in Floyd Bennett Field, a former airfield and national park that spans parts of New York City and New Jersey.

Furthermore, in a report by Axios, the Biden administration is also asking Congress to approve a temporary housing program for migrant families that illegally cross the southern border. The plan would give them more freedom than traditional detention.

Meanwhile, the Daily Signal reported that Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., introduced legislation that specifically prohibits federal funding from being used to provide housing for illegal aliens on land that is under the jurisdiction of federal land management agencies, including land belonging to the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Forest Service.

It is important to note that the use of National Parks for housing illegal aliens is a highly contentious topic. The Biden administration’s proposal has been met with opposition from some lawmakers, including Rep. Westerman, who said, “Currently, our National Parks have been called America’s best idea, but because of Joe Biden and the far Left’s worst idea, they’re being compromised, and we just can’t stand for that.”
