Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has become popular in recent years although it has been used as a popular home remedy for centuries. Touted as a superfluid, apple cider vinegar can address all kind of health problems, from the flu to warts.

Many people claim it can relieve a wide range of health complaints, but you may wonder what the research says. However, little research exists, and further studies are needed before it can be recommended as an alternative therapy.

Apple cider vinegar has various healthful properties, including antimicrobial, antifungal and antioxidant effects. Because of its antibacterial and antifungal properties, it can soothe a sore throat, lower chlesterol, and ease heartburn. What's more, evidence suggests it may offer health benefits, such as aiding weight loss, reducing cholesteral, lower blood sugar levels, and improving the symptoms of diabetes.

1. A Digestion Aid (no more tummy troubles)

3. Lower Blood Sugar

Apple cider vinegar has shown great promise in improving insulin sensivity and helping lower blood sugar (blood glucose levels) responses after meals.

To date, one the most convincing applications of ACV is helping treat type 2 diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes is characterized by high blood sugar levels caused by insulin resistance or the inability to produce insulin.

Consuming two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with water in the morning can have a positive effect on daily blood glucose levels.

4. Soothe a Sore Throat

The antibacterial properties in the vinegar can alleviate throat pain naturally. Inflammation of the pharynx, pharyngitis, causes a burning sensation in the throat. At the onset of sore throat symptoms, some experts suggest gargling one tablespoon of ACV in warm water.

5. Beautiful Skin

The acidic quality and other properties in ACV help restore a healthy pH, dimish fine lines, and combat skin damage. ACV can minimize age spots, acne, and other skin issues. Soaking a washcloth in diluted apple cider vinegar and using it as a makeshift facemask can refresh the skin and absorb oil. When left overnight on pimples or age spots, the solution can reduce inflamed skin caused by acne.

6. Add Shine to Hair

ACV improves the porosity of the hair, which helps it retain moisture. As a weekly rinse, ACV can leave the hair shiny. It removes residue that leaves locks lifeless and combats tangles and is much less expensive than salon treatments. For frizz-free hair, mix less than a half of a cup of apple cider vinegar with three or four cups water. Massage into the scalp after shampooing.

This best way to incorporate apple cider vinegar into your diet is to use it in cooing. It's a simple addition to foods like salad dressings and homemade mayonnaise.
