Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Reading is hosting their 50th Annual Greek Food Bazaar. What began in November 1970 as a fundraiser to raise money for a new Church quickly turned into a Berks County culinary tradition featuring authentic Greek cuisine and delectable desserts.
Live Greek music and intricate Greek dances greet you and transport you to Athens as you step into the Main Dining Room and Social Hall. Enjoy a Greek food platter featuring half Athenian Style Chicken, souvlaki over rice pilaf, and authentic Greek side dishes. (Greek-style fish plaki will be featured Friday night only.)
The Greek Taverna offers daily specials a la carte and daily special Grecian platter dinners. (Friday: Kalamari dinner; Saturday: Moussaka dinner; Sunday: Arni (Lamb) dinner)
The Pastry Room features exquisite Greek pastries. Choose between Baklava, Teelikta, Kourabiedes, Loukoumades, and more. If you'd like to try a little bit of each, a sampler box is available for $15.
Stop by the Kafenio to sip Greek coffee, enjoy rice pudding, or visit the Baklava Sundae Room to try customized sundaes paired with baklava.
Take-out areas are also available, featuring gyros and Greek fries.
After indulging in the cultural delicacies of Greek culture, be sure to visit the gift shops featuring authentic jewelry, art, and other novelties. Outside is a tent featuring local vendors.
