We stayed in a haunted B&B with a ghost cat in Gettysburg, PA #Veteransday
The Tillie Pierce House Inn is a historic B&B located in downtown Gettysburg, PA, just one mile from the battlefield. Matilda "Tillie" Pierce was 15 years old when the Civil War ravaged her hometown. Tillie fled to a nearby farmhouse at the base of Little Round Top, where she thought she would be out of harm's way. During and after the war, Tillie cared for wounded soldiers. Twenty-five years after the war, Tillie documented her experiences in a book titled "At Gettysburg, Or What A Girl Saw And Heard Of The Battle." Tillie soon left Gettysburg and lived in Philadelphia, PA, until she died in 1914. Rumor has it that guests aren't the only ones to frequent the inn. Guests have reported seeing apparitions of a soldier on the stairs, ghosts sitting on the edge of the bed, and children playing in the halls. We stayed in the Blue Room in August 2020... which happens to be the most haunted room in the inn. Did we encounter the ghost cat or any other otherwordly beings?
