MINNESOTA, MN - The waivers for the Minnesota Family Investment Program, Diversionary Work Program, Refugee Cash Assistance, General Assistance, Minnesota Supplemental Aid, and Housing Support will expire on September 1 this year.

Changes made under the waivers will be permanent in certain cases. Requests for the Minnesota Family Investment Program, Diversionary Work Program, Refugee Cash Assistance, General Assistance, Minnesota Supplemental Aid, and Housing Support must provide a signed application to validate participants' validity starting from September 1, 2021.

For Minnesota Family Investment Program and Diversionary Work Program, local agency and tribal eligibility workers may still accept applications over the phone or video conference. This provision will remain in effect after the waivers expire.

Through December 31, 2021, when all the necessary information has been submitted and verified, interviews for annual renewals are not required for General Assistance, Minnesota Supplemental Aid, Housing Support, and Minnesota Family Investment Program case. But, interviews are still required during annual renewals for all other Minnesota Family Investment Program cases.

Any changes in earn incomes, change in employment status, address, residence status, or another status, that occur on or after 1st September 2021, must be reported within 10 days by the applicant as directed under Minnesota Statutes (https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/256P.07#stat.256P.07.3).

Additionally, enrollment in the Diversionary Work Program was suspended during the state's peacetime emergency. If a family with children has not received cash assistance in the previous 12 months, they must apply after September 1, 2021, and must first complete the Diversionary Work Program.
