ST. PAUL, MN — The summer camps at the Science Museum of Minnesota is back this year from June 14 through September 3, 2021.

The camps have virtual and in-person options open to all new and returning campers aging 6 – 8 and 9 – 12. Registration has been opened since March 30 for members.

Below are the classes available:

  • Art Lab

Campers will experiment using different materials, techniques, and mediums to explore the connection between art and science.

In-Person Dates: June 28 -July 2, July 19- 23, August 9 - 13, August 30 - September 3

Virtual Dates: July 12 - 16, August 23 - 27

  • Code & Play

Coding can be fun as kids learn to program interactive games and explore their creativity with coding and computers.

In-Person Dates: June 28 -July 2, July 26 - 30, August 23 - 27

Virtual Dates: June 14 - 18, August 30 - September 3

  • Colossal Fossils

Campers will learn about what happened billion years ago, uncover fossils, and meet the Science Museum’s dinosaurs and the story behind them.

In-Person Dates: June 14 - 18, July 12 - 16, August 9 - 13

Virtual Dates: July 19 - 23

  • Dream & Design

Discover new ideas and learn how things work as you create ideas and solutions. Campers will learn how to design, construct, and troubleshoot a project.

In-Person Dates: June 21 - 25, July 12 - 16, August 2 - 6, August 23 - 27

Virtual Dates: July 5 - 9, August 9 - 13

  • Expedition Biology

Learning biology means understanding the living world. Campers will learn how to think like scientists and see what they can do to take care of the living things around them.

In-Person Dates: June 21 - 25, July 19 - 23, August 16 - 20

Virtual Dates: July 26 - 30

  • Myriad Mounds of Matter

This workshop gives campers a place to understand STEM concepts. They can play with safe solids and liquids, colors and light, and have fun with science, technology, engineering, and math—the fundamental fields of the future.

In-Person Dates: July 5 - 9, August 2 - 6, August 30 - September 3

Virtual Dates: June 21 - 25, August 16- 20

  • Science for Sorcerers

Sorcerers are scientists, too! Campers can act as a wizard and practice sorcery through mixing potions, making illusions, and see how science can be magic.

In-Person Dates: June 14 - 18, July 5 - 9, July 26 - 30, August 16 - 20

Virtual Dates: June 28 -July 2, August 2 - 6
