MARION, OH - Marion Popcorn Festival is near, and who is ready for some poppin'?!

This year's event will be the 40th Anniversary #PoppinForty coming to you this September 9, 10 & 11 in Downton Marion, Ohio. From 11.00 a.m. to midnight.

The Marion Popcorn Festival is one of Ohio's premier events and named one of the Top 100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association. The Festival is the largest popcorn festival in the world, annually attracting over 250,000 people.

First-ever Marion Popcorn Festival was held in September of 1981. The idea to organize a festival came from a number of local city officials. As one of the top popcorn growers in the United States, 'Popcorn' then becomes the Festival's name.

The three-day event will feature Popcorn Parade, Festival Pageant, live musical acts, fine arts shows, crafts, corn hole, popcorn cooking contest, Community Showcase Stage, food and beverages vendors. There will be a variety of rides for families to enjoy as well.

For safety reasons, pets are banned from festival grounds.

The kick-off will be the parade that will take place on September 9 at 06.00 p.m. The parade will start on E. Center Street and end at Church Street, Mount Vernon Avenue, and S. Vine Street.

Rock band Great White will be Marion Popcorn Festival's 40th Anniversary headliner. The Great White will be performing on the main stage on September 11, 2021.

All performances on the Festival's main stage begin at 8.30 p.m., and it's free of charge. A limited Kernel sponsorship seats are available for Main Stage performance by calling 740-387-FEST.
