CLEVELAND, OH - The City of Cleveland is looking for a Personnel Administrator. The salary for this position is around $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 annually. It is a full-time job and the vacancy will close on August 24, 2021, at 11.59 p.m. Eastern.

The main job description for this position is to implement Personnel, Civil Service, and EEO standards, rules, regulations, and union contract language within a city department or division. Individuals in this position will work under the general supervision of the management.

Some examples of work as a Personnel Administrator are:

  • Supervise and administer the payroll procedures.
  • Provide training for newer staff and monitor their performance.
  • Able to operate Microsoft Office and payroll software.
  • Develop a metric plan to improve operational needs.
  • Establish payroll procedures for the department to meet operational needs.
  • Create and maintain a systematic record of payroll transactions.
  • Manage Personal Identification Document.
  • Help the Human Resources team with complaints and questions related to labor activity.
  • Oversee military leave pay, hours, and earning statements (LES).
  • Act as the representative for the City of Cleveland Department of Human Resources.
  • Ensure the implementation of Human Resource department policies and procedures.

Required qualification:

  • Possess High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Human Resources and Employee Relations or related positions.
  • Possess knowledge about payroll procedures and related laws.
