Akron, OH - Every Saturday, starting from July 24, go to Cascade Plaza and join Downtown Akron Partnership and Summit Choral Society’s new program, DrumSing. The group will meet at the plaza at 11:00 - 11:30 a.m.

DrumSing is a unique hybrid musical experience for teens and young adults that combines traditional drumming with vocalized melodies. The musical programming is quite diversified, spanning from traditional drumline cadences to various pop/rock influences, as well as multi-cultural tones, techniques, and vocalizations, another thing to note is that they only operate during the summer months. This group attracts attention and raises eyebrows because they are enjoyable, worthwhile, and inventive.

Check their performance at Akron Marathon by clicking here or their practice page here.

DrumSing will be Instructed by Matt Dudack, he is the director of the Miller South Steel Band at the Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts and the Firestone High School Steel Band, as well as a Community Resource Specialist for the Akron Public Schools. He also instructs students at the Akron School for the Arts. On top of that, he is also a music instructor at Canton Country Day School in Canton, Ohio, where he teaches several art classes which include band, drumming, jazz, and steel band.

Just in case you can't attend this event on July 24, no need to worry because DrumSing happens every Saturday on July 31 from 10:55 - 11:05 a.m., August 14, 10:55 - 11:05 a.m., and the event will conclude on Aug 21, 2021 from 10:30 - 10:45 a.m. For more info, check their website by clicking here.
