By now, you may have heard about NFTs and perhaps even seen that a few hoopers have dabbled in various projects. But no single project has taken the NBA by storm quite like this one.
The Rumble Kong League is a raging collection of 10,000 programmatically constructed NFTs called Kongs. Individual participants include an array of NBA players: Stephen Curry, Paul George, Tyrese Haliburton, Andre Iguodala, Josh Hart, Hassan Whiteside, Gary Payton II, Cole Anthony, Damion Lee, JaVale McGee, and Malik Beasley.
RKL stands out by focusing on its cryptocurrency features for Kong holders that set it apart from other NFT ICOs or independent games.
Players will compete professionally in leagues and tournaments for cryptocurrency prizes and own and manage teams.
Users will also purchase fashion collectibles for their Kong to wear, help them train base stats, and breed their Kong to create new NFTs.
However, the game has not launched yet. When it launches, Kong holders can expect to participate in all sorts of ways; the game could be released in 2022 and feature 3-on-3-style gameplay.
The visual capabilities of each Kong are of varying rarity. Each Kong is also allocated various Shooting Defence Sights information, Vision skills, Finishing indicators, and Shooting and Defense statistics. These statistics each play a part in selecting the overall Kong's capacity.
While waiting for video games to be released, the Kong community grows. The @RumbleKongs Twitter account currently has over 40 thousand followers. In June, Kong's trading volume is now more than $55 million, dating back to the collection's launch.
Lots of your favorite athletes and entertainers are repping Kongs. Ja Rule, La La Anthony, and Yankees pitcher Clarke Schmidt are among the most prominent holders.
