An Arkansas garage door company owner has pleaded guilty to evading over $200,000 of federal business taxes.
Ronald Clark, a Bella Vista local, owned and operated Clark Overhead Doors, a company that installed, serviced, and repaired garage doors. Clark has admitted to evading the assessment of federal income and employment taxes between 2015 and 2020
Per an official release from the IRS, he did this by operating primarily in cash and failing to file individual income tax and employment tax returns. In total, Clark's total tax liability is $236,791.
Clark faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison, probation following release, and monetary restitution. A sentencing date in the case has not been announced.
IRS-Criminal Investigation is overseeing the case.
It is worth noting that, despite Clark's arrest and subsequent guilty plea, Clark Overhead Doors has an active website. It is not known who is currently running the business.
