With the soaring prices of goods and services, a free offer can seem questionable. That’s about to change for a day. Dairy Queen plans to bring smiles to customers at participating locations in Dallas and across the nation.
After a two-year hiatus, Free Cone Day returns Monday, March 21, 2022.
A small soft serve ice cream cone is how Dairy Queen celebrates the first day of spring. The tasty promotion started in 2014.
Is it real ice cream?
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires ice cream to “contain not less than 20 percent milk solids, constituted of not less than 10 percent milkfat.”
Dairy Queen’s vanilla cone is an “artificially flavored vanilla reduced fat ice cream,” per their website. Ingredients include milkfat and nonfat milk, sugar, corn syrup, and whey.
Yes, it is real ice cream.
According to Taste of Home, “Soft serve ice cream has air added into it to enhance creaminess during the freezing process.”
Details to get your freebie
There’s a limit of one free cone per customer. Dairy Queen plans to serve them all day while supplies last.
The Free Cone Day promotion is not at mall locations. Also, it may not be available for mobile or delivery orders. Contact locations near you to find out if they will give out the treats.
Pizza ice cream is another option in Dallas
If vanilla is too plain for you, perhaps you want to try less traditional flavors. Does your mouth water at the thought of macaroni and cheese or pizza ice cream? Stores in Dallas stores and across the nation sell them.
Delight your taste buds with ice cream soon.
