Hike New Mexico's Catwalk in the Gila National Forest

We recently traveled back to Albuquerque from Arizona and stopped at the Catwalk Recreation Area near Glenwood, New Mexico. Just 65 miles NW of Silver City. This beautiful canyon known as the Catwalk Recreation Area was originally explored for mining, and was renovated in the early 1900's by the Conservation Corps. This is typically a great place to cool off in the summer, but don't overlook this beautiful area in the fall! This hike takes you along an elevated walkway (catwalk)- overlooking Whitewater Creek. Admission is $3 and the National Parks Pass is accepted here. Plan to bring the whole family!
