The Capitol Theatre hosts The Capitol Sessions: a benefit concert for Headcount on December 17

The historic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY is gearing up to host a benefit concert for Headcount titled; "The Capitol Sessions: Songs From a Rock Palace That Impacted The World" featuring major headliners Jackson Browne and co-founder of Hot Tuna fame and former member of Jefferson Airplane; Jorma Kaukonen along with a myriad of rock and roll icons to benefit the non-partisan voters' rights group; Headcount on December 17.

Other artists on the bill feature Marco Benevento, James Casey (Trey Anastasio Band) Lisa Fischer (Luther Vandross, The Rolling Stones) Amy Helm (Levon Helm) Connor Kennedy (Steely Dan, Amy Helm) Eric Krasno (Soulive, Lettuce) Tony Leone (Levon Helm, Chris Robinson Brotherhood) Grahame Lesh (Phil Lesh and Friends), Adam Minkoff (Zappa Plays Zappa, The Machine) Karina Rykman, Teresa Williams, and the War & Treaty.

According to this article on Variety.com, The Capitol Sessions is the latest in a lineup of events organized by RWE, the company founded by Greg Williamson and Nicole Rechter. Their company has staged many charity events such as Love Rocks NYC, the "Play on CBS: primetime TV special," and the annual Tipping Point concert for Tulane University and the city of New Orleans.

Producer-Arranger-Instrumentalist Larry Campbell is scheduled to be curating the evening along with his musical partner and wife Teresa Williams.

Headcount is voter registration and advocacy organization that drives more than 1,000 live events yearly and collaborates with cultural leaders to promote civic engagement and interaction by registering people to exercise their rights to vote in upcoming elections.

Tickets go on sale Friday, November 19 at 12 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre box office and online at thecapitoltheatre.com. Fans are encouraged to make a donation to benefit voter registration at Headcount.org.
