Denver Weather: Rainy Wednesday morning, high temp near 56

(DENVER, Colo.) Much needed rain will continue to fall in the Mile High City Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service in Boulder predicts mostly cloudy skies and showers mainly before 10 a.m. The high temperature in Denver Wednesday is anticipated to reach near 56.

Expect calm winds to become southeast at 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. There is a 70% chance of precipitation.

Snow showers are expected over the higher elevations in Park and Jefferson counties Wednesday morning. Rain showers will slowly disappear in the afternoon.

The skies over Denver Wednesday evening are set to be partly cloudy as the low-temperature drops to around 44. Northeast winds at 5 to 7 mph will become light and variable after midnight.

Looking Ahead: Sunny skies and warm temperatures return in Denver Thursday

Following a wet and stormy start to June, Thursday in the Mile High City will be warm and bright.

The weather service predicts sunny skies, with a high temperature near 74. Expect light and variable winds to become northeast at 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will grace Denver before midnight Thursday. Partly cloudy skies will hover over the city, with a low temperature of around 50.

Expect northeast winds at 6 to 8 mph to become southwest after midnight.
