Denver seeks part-time lifeguards with pay starting at $15.87/hour

(DENVER, Colo.) Denver Parks and Recreation is looking to hire strong and enthusiastic swimmers to work as part-time lifeguards.

The part-time position starts at $15.87/hour, requires Lifeguard Certification and is open to qualified candidates ages 15 or older.

Lifeguards' job duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol the pools and enforce safety rules
  • Aid swimmers from water when in danger; conduct resuscitation and first aid when required
  • Potentially coach swimming teams or teach swimming lessons
  • Potentially conduct minor maintenance work on pool equipment
  • Potentially supply recreation front desk assistance or other facility operations support

Denver Parks and Recreation provides free lifeguard certification through the American Red Cross for people ages 15 or older who plan on working as a lifeguard for the City and County of Denver.
