Denver Weather: Dry, sunny and warm Friday ahead of near-record heat this weekend

(DENVER, Colo.) Friday's weather forecast predicts another dry, mild and sunny day in the Mile High City.

The National Weather Service in Boulder predicts the skies to start partly sunny and gradually become sunny. The high temperature in Denver will reach near 68.

Expect light and variable wind to become northwest at 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Wind gusts may reach as high as 15 mph. Gusts over the high mountain passes and east slopes could reach up to 35 mph.

The weather service predicts mostly clear skies over Denver Friday evening, with a low temperature dropping around 41.

Expect west to northwest winds at 5 to 9 mph to become southern following midnight. Wind gusts might reach as high as 15 mph.

Looking Ahead: Possible record-heat, temperatures near-80 Saturday and Sunday

Saturday in the Mile High City will be sunny for the most part, with a high temperature near 79.

Expect southern winds at 7 to 14 mph to become west to northwest in the afternoon. Wind gusts could potentially reach as high as 22 mph.

The skies over Denver Saturday evening will be mostly cloudy. The weather service predicts the low temperature to drop to around 45. Anticipate west to northwest winds at 6 to 11 mph to become southern after midnight, with gusts possibly reaching as high as 18 mph.

Expect partly sunny skies Sunday but warmer temperatures with a high around 80. Southern winds will blow near 7 mph.

Clouds will persist through Sunday evening as the low temperature drops to around 46.
