Denver Weather: Sunny and warm weekend ahead, arctic front next week

(DENVER, Colo.) Friday's weather forecast predicts dry conditions and sunny skies in the Mile High City.

The National Weather Service in Boulder forecasts the high temperature in Denver Friday will reach near 49. Expect southern winds at 5 to 9 mph to become northern in the afternoon.

Wind gusts may reach as high as 15 mph.

Parts of the northeastern plains will see wind gusts up to 30-35 mph Friday afternoon.

The weather service predicts mostly clear skies over Denver Friday evening, with the low temperature dropping to around 23. 

Expect western winds at 5 to 7 mph to become southern Friday evening.

Looking ahead: Dry, sunny and warm Saturday and Sunday

Saturday in Denver is expected to be sunny, with the high temperature poised to reach around 57. Expect southern winds at 6 to 8 mph throughout the day.

The weather service predicts the skies over Denver Saturday evening will be partly cloudy. The low temperature is anticipated to dip to around 29. Expect southern winds around 9 mph.

Sunday will be similar to Saturday, with sunny conditions and a high temperature of around 58. Southern winds at 5 to 8 mph will blow throughout the day.

The weather service expects partly cloudy skies in Denver Sunday evening, with the low temperature dropping to around 26.

While Saturday and Sunday are expected to be sunny with warm temperatures, the next chance of snow in Denver will take place Monday, President's Day, through Wednesday. An arctic front will hit Denver, bringing clouds, cold temperatures and snow.

The weather service predicts temperatures to stay relatively low, with the low temperatures Monday and Tuesday dropping to around 2 and 1.
