(DENVER, Colo.) The weather in Denver Friday will be cool and breezy, with mostly sunny conditions expected all day.

The sun rose over the Mile High City at 7:16 a.m. Friday and will set over the Rockies at 4:37 p.m. The National Weather Service in Boulder is forecasting that temperatures in Denver will reach a high near 44.

Breezy conditions will see south winds of 5 to 10 mph that will later become west-northwest of 11 to 16 mph in the afternoon. Wind gusts may reach as high as 24 mph.

The skies over Denver Friday evening will be mostly clear, with a low temperature near 15. West northwest winds will reach speeds of 5 to 10 mph and will become east, with gusts potentially reaching as high as 16 mph.

Air quality in Denver as of 10:15 a.m. was good at 50, similar to Thursday at the same time. Posing little to no health risk, the primary pollutant in the air is nitrogen oxides that are often produced from fires, power plants and traffic.

The northern mountains will see snow decreasing throughout the day and is poised to end in the evening, with additional snow expected to accumulate less than 4 inches. Roads are covered with snow and slippery Friday morning across north-central Colorado.
