Upgrade Your Students' Learning Experience with St. Louis Zoo's Virtual Field Trips Program

ST. LOUIS, MO – St. Louis Zoo, home to thousands of animals and dozens of conservation centers, offers a Virtual Field Trip program to support students' learning experience in St. Louis. This program is one of the zoo's efforts to facilitate education about animals and their habitats to the city community.

Like other field trips, the zoo provides opportunities for children to interact with two educators at several locations previously agreed upon. One of the educators will provide some material from a Distance Learning studio.

The limit of participants in one program is 500 children, with a note that the presentation will be done in a one-way direction, where the participants cannot communicate with the presenters directly.

Even so, they can still interact through the chat column and the question-and-answer feature in the Zoom application. For the number of participants who do not exceed 35 children, it is possible to conduct a direct question-and-answer activity.

The zoo offers several themes to be presented during the program, including animal adaptations, what it takes to be a zookeeper, animal classification, and pole to pole for different participant requirements according to their grade level.

Most locations in the zoo are open to exploring in this virtual field trips program, ranging from Jungle of the Apes, Bird House, Herpetarium, Red Rocks, River's Edge Safari, Marvelous Mascot, Aquatic Adventure, to Dinoroarus Discovery. However, some locations are subject to change based on certain conditions, such as sudden maintenance.

The school or teacher can register from one month to two weeks before the program starts. The cost for one virtual field trip is $225. The Boeing Company provides a number of donations for students who are unable to participate in this program due to financial reasons until December 2021.
