ST. LOUIS, MO - St. Louis was named the Ultimate Sports City for a reason. The city has always been popular with its sports teams and home to professional and collegiate sports teams.

An eleven times World Series Championship, the St. Louis Cardinals is a major league baseball team. The Cardinals won the first world series in 1926 and most recently in 2011. Their Busch Stadium is known to offer the best baseball tradition and a great view from every seat. Off-field activities in every game are also part of the relentless tradition.

St. Louis was also recently awarded an expansion of the Major League Soccer, the newest St. Louis City SC which will begin to play in 2023. There are also professional women's sports teams such as St. Louis Slam and St. Louis Surge. The St. Louis Slam is part of the Women's Football Alliance and is four times national champions. It is currently setting up for its return in the 2022 season.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Surge is the women's professional basketball team and a two times national champion, they play home games at the Washington University Field House Complex.

If you are into Frontier League Baseball, then the Gateway Grizzlies and the River City Rascals are the other professional sports teams to look into. However, college teams are also a big hit in St. Louis.

The Billikens of the Saint Louis University have competed in the Atlantic 10 conference and the men's basketball is a regular at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournaments. In addition, in the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament winners will earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament

The city also has sporting events for the St. Louis community to enjoy. Residents can participate in Spring sporting events such as the Go St. Louis Family Fitness Weekend that is held annually for runners to participate in a half-marathon, marathon relay, 5K run/walk.
