Dear Monarchs, All praises to my God for putting me in the position I am in today, I am nothing without Him. I'm thankful for Coach Rahne and all of Monarch Nation for helping me fall back in love with the game of football again. For that alone, I am forever indebted to the program. I am thankful for all of my family, teammates, and friends being my support system that got me to this point of a long journey. Even though my college playing career is done, the best is yet to come. I am proud to announce that I will be entering the 2023 NFL draft" -Tyran

Although he completed his athletic journey at ODU, the beginning of his college football career started at the University of Maryland as that university was the one that gained his commitment on December 11, 2016.

Reese Becker conducted an interview in September 2021 for fans to personally get to know Hunt better in an interview tilted, "Tyran Hunt Hoping to Cook Up Something Special for ODU" that was published on DullesDistrict.com. The love for Tyran has been all over the internet. He had another interview with Jasmine Washington (Maryland Media Relations Intern) with Feature Friday. She dived into Tyran's motivation

Hunt was an honored guest on The First & Football Show (Episode 65) "discuss his football journey, and what separates him from other prospects in this year's draft class." The episode was released on December 3, 2022 & is available now for supporters to listen.

While at the University of Maryland, TJ was a redshirt in 2017, had an appearance in 6 games in 2018, & appeared in 2 games in 2019 prior to his transfer to ODU. During his ODU career, he appeared in all 13 games of the season in 2021, as well as 10 games in 2022.

Hunt is one of the humblest & well-mannered young men I know. He's always been intelligent, & you could tell that he had a bright future ahead of him. Based on my personal knowledge, friendship, & experience of this young man & his entire immediate family (Tabitha, James, Jamia, Tydell, & Jaylon), I can't think of any family that is more deserving of this chance. I also couldn't be prouder; this news made my heart happy. I can only imagine how his parents feel. They did well in raising him. I'm honored to see it up close.
