Are you hanging out with your kids or family in Bangor, ME? Do you hate to cook and like to sleep late on weekends but want to make sure your kids start the day off with a great meal?

Here are a few suggestions for a big breakfast in Bangor, ME.

Power up with Denny's Breakfast

I’ve eaten at Denny’s in Manila, in the Philippines, Japan, Canada, and the UK. Although you might get a little bowl of baked beans and a fried tomato, in the UK, Denny’s always serves more than enough food for the average person. The one in Bangor is no exception, but it seems the wait staff is much friendlier!

Reboot your soul with a full breakfast while visiting Maine at Denny’s located on 120 Haskell Road, Bangor, Maine just off I-95. Eat-in or takeout some amazing American breakfast foods at this location in Bangor.

One of my all-time favorites from Denny’s is the Philly Cheesesteak Omelets made with three eggs, dices prime rib, fire-roasted bell peppers & onions, sautéed mushrooms, and melted Swiss cheese. Plated with Denny’s hash browns and toast or choice of bread.

My kids love the Salted Caramel & Banana Cream Pancake Breakfast, two eggs any style, two strips of bacon or sausage, and seasonal fruit, which we usually get on Sunday after church.

However, if a customer is hungrier, they can order the "Grand Slamwich," which combines scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, and cheese on sliced potato bread. Another popular dish is the "Moons Over My Hammy," which stacks scrambled eggs and cheese over ham on sourdough bread. It’s incredible!

They have vegetarian options and wi-fi for the kids, so they won’t get bored waiting for breakfast and drive you crazy. This Denny’s location has an overall 3.5 out of 5-stars. Out of 154 reviewers, 109 rated it either very good or excellent.

JeffnHeather04401 said, “Food is always great, and the kitchen staff is awesome, always laughing and singing. Definitely a great experience.”

Denny’s is open Monday thru Thursday from 7 am to 8 pm, Saturdays from 6 am to 10 pm, and Sundays from 6 am to 8 pm.

Dysart's Restaurant Broadway

Dysart's Restaurant is just off I-95, whose typical clientele are truckers, so you know you will get a big breakfast and an endless cup of coffee or tea. Their breakfast plate is enormous! Like every truck stop you’ve ever eaten at, Dysart’s will give you more than you can eat at a very reasonable price for the entire family.

Dysart's is located at 1110 Broadway I-95 Exit 185, Bangor, ME. Open 24-hours as you would expect from any truck stop.

Sclawgirl2016 says, “Just flew into Bangor for the day. This was suggested by the Air B&B where I am staying. Excellent little diner.”

Chase’s Family Restaurant

Chase’s serves their “Good Morning Breakfast” from 7 am to 11 am daily. I would suggest their three-egg Western Omelet, with home fries and toast. It’s loaded with ham, onions, green peppers, and cheese. You won’t get up still hungry!

Chase’s, at 1575 Hammond Street in Bangor, is open from 7 am to 8 pm Monday through Saturday and closes at 7 pm on Sunday. Call (207) 947-0030.

Bagel Central

Bagel Central, located at 33 Central Street in downtown Bangor is one of the most talked-about breakfast spots in downtown Bangor. You’re going to love it. They make everything from scratch using high-quality, fresh ingredients.

I love their spinach and feta omelet, always served with a bagel and creamed cheese, with a bowl of oatmeal with raisins and nuts served on the side. My partner always has the Egg Special with two eggs scrambled light, bagel with cream cheese, and oatmeal pancakes. But whatever breakfast you choose, it will be up before you can finish that first coffee or tea.

Call (207) 947-1654 to get a head start on your breakfast or order online. Gluten-free is always available from Udi’s. Bagel Central is open Monday through Friday from 6 am to 6 pm, and Saturday & Sunday from 6 am to 2 pm.

If you want a big breakfast for you and the family but don’t want to cook, head out to one of these locations in Bangor to have an excellent breakfast!
