Feeling Good: Nina Simone's Childhood Home + Exploring Downtown and Nina Simone Plaza | Tryon, NC

After breakfast in Hendersonville, we didn't have to go far to explore the childhood home and town of a National Treasure and Icon: Ms. Nina Simone. We were "Feeling Good" πŸ˜‰ as we visited Nina Simone's childhood home to see where she lived when she first learned to play piano, launching her classical training and storied career. We got to go right up to the house and peek in the windows, and it looks like they may be making plans and preparations to restore it! With any luck, it will eventually be opened to the public to go inside and see the piano and sheet music, a bed, and some of her family's religious items (those are some of the things we spotted through the windows). From there, we headed into downtown Tryon to visit Nina Simone Plaza and explore the town. | For more adventures, follow our adventures in real time on Instagram stories: https://www.instagram.com/stephenandandie πŸ“Έ
