Buster Posey to announce retirement at Oracle Park at 3 p.m.

The San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey will be holding a press conference at Oracle Park on Thursday at 3 p.m. He is expected to announce his retirement after 12 seasons with the Giants.

Lighter rain returns to the Bay Area this week after record-rain in October

Bay Area, get your umbrellas out again: Three rain systems will be moving over the region throughout this week, with some light showers Thursday and Saturday. More rain and colder temps are expected to continue on Monday and Tuesday. Don't worry: It's not expected to be as severe as last month's atmospheric river, which caused significant damage, from flooding highways to power outages.

New airline adds direct flights from SFO to Canda

Flair Airlines is adding direct flights to San Francisco International Airport from Vancouver and Edmonton, Canada, starting in spring 2022. The low-cost Canadian airline on Thursday said Canada was one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s top visitor markets for visitor volume in 2019.

The announcement comes as the U.S. border opens to all international travelers meeting CDC requirements next Monday.

S.F. to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for children ages 5-11 at restaurants, Warriors games and more indoor spaces

Up until now, San Francisco has required everyone 12 and older to show proof of vaccination inside many public spaces since August. With national approval of COVID-19 vaccines for kids 5-11 earlier this week, San Francisco will soon require this younger age group to show proof of vaccination too.

City health officials said this requirement will likely kick in after a couple of months after kids have had a chance to get fully vaccinated.
