ATLANTA, GA- February 11, 2022- J.T. Williams, the developer of The Eagles Landing Community is serving as a Co-CEO of Georgia Mobility Company which is changing transportation as we know it. Macon, Georgia’s Mayor Lester Miller signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Georgia Mobility Company, of Atlanta, GA, an affiliate of JPODs of Tulsa, Oklahoma, to install the first Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) in the world to be placed in Macon-Bibb County. The first solar powered transportation network will be built at zero cost to the Macon-Bibb county and taxpayers.
The privately financed JPods will be contributing to the Macon-Bibb 5% of its annual revenue for the use of its public Right of Way and Air Rights. In addition, the company is bringing hundreds of jobs to the region, making an investment in the people of Macon, Georgia. JPods will use its United States Patent 6,810,817 for grade separated PODs; helping to reduce traffic congestion and add to the quality of life.
On Thursday, February 10, 2022 Mayor Miller met with officials of Georgia Mobility and JPODs to determine the exact location of the first JPods Network, which will be strategically located between The Macon Mall and downtown Macon; which will also contribute to the revitalization of this area.
As each rider or group of riders exit the JPod, the self-cleaning system will sanitize between each rider, boasting one of the healthiest and cleanest modes of transportation in this age of COVID. For each rider it will also cost less than an Uber ride or other similar modes of transportation.
The parties in this venture include Chairman of the Georgia Mobility Company, Charlie Fletcher, the JPods creator Bill James, Co-Ceos Auta Lopes and J.T. Williams. Charlie is a retired Major General and served as a Commanding General for the United States Army.
Auta Lopes and J. T. Williams lead Georgia Mobility Company whose mission is to build the networks in Georgia under their License with Bill James, a Co-Founder of JPods, for the State of Georgia. Lopes and Williams are deeply experienced in economic development in Georgia.
