Y&R’s Gina Roma could compete against Deacon Sharpe for customers on The Bold and the Beautiful.
B&B spoilers tease that life is going to get interesting quickly for Deacon Sharpe. He is determined to make Il Giardino a big success now that he’s taking over the Bold and the Beautiful eatery. Could he soon be facing some competition in the reservations department? Viewers of The Young and the Restless may have a suspicion that could happen!
B&B Spoilers Speculation
Actress Patty Weaver reprised her role as Gina Roma on Y&R this week for the show’s 50th anniversary. When she appeared at the Genoa City Athletic Club, Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) asked how her restaurant in Los Angeles was. Lauren also mentioned she had a great time dining at it during her trip to the West Coast.
Viewers had figured Gina might not be living in Genoa City anymore, given her absence, but Y&R revealed that Gina now has a restaurant in L.A. — the setting for B&B! Was that a throwaway line, or are the two soaps conspiring to create a new dynamic?
BOLD Dining Choices
Currently, Deacon’s restaurant is pretty much the only restaurant seen on the show. B&B used to have Griffey’s (a hamburger joint for the younger set), Cafe Russe (for more wealthy characters), coffee shop Insomnia, and the coveted private dining room at the curiously nameless club. Over the years, we’ve seen less and less of these other attractions and more of Il Giardino, which is great, but variety is the spice of life!
B&B Spoilers: Deacon Loves a Good Rival
Wouldn’t it be great to have Gina and her eatery start to appear on B&B? Her character and her establishment could offer an alternative for characters who want a change of pace. We suspect that Deacon would embrace competition and up his game to make sure his place was the hot spot in town. Deacon spent time in Genoa City himself — and he’s not the only one who has done time living in Los Angeles.
Lauren lived in L.A. for years, where she romanced Eric (John McCook) and became a part of the Spectra Fashions gang. So would it really be so shocking for Gina to be seen there as well? She has doled out some no-nonsense advice to her loved ones over the years. Weaver brings true empathy and warmth to her role as Gina. We suspect that if B&B were to establish both Gina and her restaurant on the show that we might see more Y&R characters pop in for a visit. Plus, it would be a perfect setting for B&B characters to both nourish their bodies and their souls!
