Style Tip: Neutral looks for winter

One of my favorite trends this winter has been winter whites! I love the look of an all-white layered look whether it is cozied up by the fireplace with some cocoa or out for a snowy walk with an extra hot oat milk latte! To me this is such a timeless and chic look that can be styled in so many different ways!

The key to rocking an all-white look is layers and textures! Since everything is basically the same color, or at least in the same shade family, you have to find ways to differentiate with fabrics, lengths, and layers. These are just a few of my favorite ways to style this timeless trend!

Okay first up is the headed out for coffee look! I started with my favorite white bodysuit from Abercrombie & Fitch. I have this bodysuit in 3 colors because it is literally soooo comfortable and flattering. It is a sweater material but still fairly light which makes it the perfect layering piece. Next, I paired it with my favorite white jeans from Zara. Already mixing textures of knit and denim! I have had this pair of jeans for years and I cannot recommend it enough! They are perfectly tailored with a high waist and hit right at the ankle. The wider leg and the frayed edge give them an upscale but still casual feel, perfect for any occasion in my opinion! Now time to bundle up! I threw on this long "coat-igan" from Lulus to finish of this outfit. The cozy knit feel makes it super warm and the long length is flattering and timeless.

What is a look without accessories though? I paired this entire outfit with a pair of light taupe suede booties from Marc Fisher LTD. I purchased these boots almost three years ago and they are still in nearly perfect condition, even after being the most worn boots in my closet! They come out with a similar style every year that I have linked. Finally, I topped my look with the beige Prada bucket hat. This is one of my favorite items in my closet and I love to throw it on to finish off a simple outfit. The beige has been sold out for so long, but I think this would also look really cute styled with the black or white version.

If you live in a colder climate then me, which is probably most people, I will also suggest throwing on a scarf and mittens with this look! I absolutely love a Sherpa glove and think these would add a fun touch and new texture to the look. Finally, this scarf is one of my personal favorites, it is super cozy and soft and large enough to cover your chin and nose on the extra bitter days. We experienced one of those days last January in New York City and my boyfriend stole this scarf off my neck to keep himself warm!

The last thing I will suggest for this look is swapping out the coatigan for a long puffer jacket if you do live somewhere that gets extra chilly! I am certainly blessed to live in sunny San Diego where puffers are not necessary but when I do travel to snowier parts of the world this puffer is my go-to!

This second look is more of an around the house look! We spent so much time at home in 2020 and I do not really anticipate 2021 being much different, so comfy looks are essential! I do not recommend trying to eat pasta or drink red wine in this look, but you would probably be safe with a cup of tea and a good book!

Loungewear became a big piece of my wardrobe this year but my all-time favorite set I got was this cozy velour tracksuit from Z Supply. It comes in a dark grey color as well, but I loved the dreamy look of the white set. I love that the neckline is wide making it perfect to wear off one shoulder. The joggers, well I live in them, let’s just be honest. They feel like I am wearing a cloud and sit perfect on my hips.

I paired this cozy look with my favorite slippers from Bear Paw. I have a few pair of their slippers, but these knit off-white ones are my faves! They are lined with sheepskin making them extra cozy and warm. This is another item my boyfriend tries to steal even though they come nowhere close to fitting him.

Have I worn this outfit out of the house? Absolutely! I have worn this on walks by the ocean, running errands, and even on coffee dates! When I do wear it out of the house, I like to pair it with this off-white denim shacket from Zara. Remember when I said mix fabrics? Well, that is what we do!

I obviously do not wear my slippers out of the house though so when I do head out in this look I either pair it with my white Nike sneakers or my white Dr. Martens. I like it both ways it just depends what I am headed out to do.
