In previous stories, I've been vocal about the fact that, as a longtime Elgin resident, I believe the city needs to step up its game when it comes to dining out, or even, takeout.
But, I'm the first to say that perhaps I was mistaken as, after a bit of exploration, I've learned that this sprawling city forty miles from Chicago plays host to some pretty enticing eateries.
Naturally, when we reference "the best" restaurants in Elgin, IL these can vary depending on your taste and preferences, but here are some popular options that offer a range of cuisines:
Martini Room, 101 East Chicago Street: This trendy spot is known for its creative cocktails, like the "Birthday Cake Martini" and a diverse menu that includes small plates, sushi, and more. It's a great place to hang out with friends. They feature live music on Fridays and even, burlesque and drag shows. Prepare to be awed by both the cocktails and the entertainment.
Elgin Public House, 219 East Chicago Avenue: A local favorite, the cozy, Elgin Public House offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere along with a menu featuring classic American comfort food and a variety of craft beers.
