OAKLAND COUNTY, MI - Oakland County's summer festival "Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats" will be held in Downtown Royal Oak on Labor Day Weekend. The festival, which is set for September 3-6, 2021, is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of people for an end-of-summer celebration.
This year's festival is sponsored by Flagstar Bank and its "Culture on Fourth" space will be dedicated to celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as highlighting Black, Indigenous, and people of color-owned businesses. A mini-festival of artists and restaurants will be held on the street, as well as a live mural painting and the Flagstar Bank International Stage, which will host a diverse musical lineup. For the lineup visit here.
The admission for the festival is $5 before 3 p.m. and $10 if you purchase it after 3 p.m. For those who donate to a good cause, Flagstar Bank is offering free admission to Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats! To qualify for free admission, simply bring three non-perishable food items to one of the event's branches, which can be found here, by August 31st. Protein-rich foods like canned tuna, chicken, and peanut butter are in high demand right now.
Tequila Blue, a cantina in downtown Royal Oak located on top of the 526 Main Dueling Piano Bar, joins the Eats this year. They offer a tantalizing array of tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and other fiery Mexican treats.
Priority Health has partnered with Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats to encourage restaurant partners to provide healthy "eats" for festival attendees, so restaurants will use the colored icons to identify healthy options on their menu board signs at the festival that you can see here.
