DETROIT, MI - Sunset at the Zoo is always the wildest party of the year in Metro Detroit. The Detroit Zoological Society (DZS) re-imagined this popular and crucial fundraiser this year.
The DZS, which runs The Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Center, is nationally recognized as the leader in humane education, wildlife conservation, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability.
There are stories that are sure to delight and intrigue during the DZS's first-ever virtual fundraiser, from the rescue and round-the-clock rearing of a newborn chimpanzee, to the storm-induced need to grab endangered Great Lakes piping plover eggs from the wild during a pandemic, to the extraordinary DZS penguin research and conservation work in Antarctica.
This year's Sunset in the Zoo comes up with a different theme which is "Sunset at the Zoo: The Future Is Bright." The event will be held on Friday, August 27, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The DZS and event chairmen Sarah and Calvin Ford are calling people at the age of 21-and-older to join this fundraising extravaganza.
Sunset in the Zoo, presented by Strategic Staffing Solutions, will be a spectacular evening with great cuisine, luscious drinks, live entertainment, and a unique zoo auction. During this fun-filled celebration, all visitors will have special access to the Detroit Zoo's expansive and naturalistic animal habitats. Guests will also hear about the Zoo's newest residents as well as its exciting future plans.
To ensure a safe celebration for everybody, ticket sales will be restricted. Now is the time to book!
