DEARBORN, MI — The Dearborn Summer Youth Theater is now open registration for Lion King Kids Performance.
Dearborn Youth Theater opens classes for children age 6 to 12. The classes will be run from August 11 – 21, 2021 (Monday – Friday) from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The children will perform The Lion King Kids on 20 – 21 August 2021 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. The Lion Kings Kids Class fee is $150 and there will be an additional fee for online registration. The theater box office from Dearborn Youth Theater opens every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lion King Kids movie from Disney is the story of Simba, a young lion prince who lives in the African jungle. He can’t wait to be the king to all animals on the pride lands. Prince Simba is greatly idolized his father. However, his father, King Musafa was killed. Unfortunately, he was led to believe that he killed his father, which led him to go into exile. To come to his destiny becomes a king and to get the throne back, he has to survive. At a young age, Simba should face grim fights and meet formidable enemies to become a king of the Jungle.
The children from the Dearborn Youth Theater will present the African Savanah comes to life on the stage. The dynamic show of Simba's tale brightens up with traditional African style and rhythms to life. The priority of family, love, friendship, and bravery are performed with emotion and humor. The King Lion Kids performance is based on the Broadway production directed by Julie Taymor. Music and Lyrics produced by Elton John and Tim Rice. For additional music and lyrics by Lebo M. Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, and Hans Zimmer, as well as a book by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi.
