A book review of Falling by Jane Green.
Emma Montague never felt like she fit in. She was born to an upper-crust British family, and once she allowed herself, she left that life for one in New York. She threw herself into life in New York and spent all of her time working so that she could feel successful. However, that life soon became something that she didn’t want either!
She finds herself in the picturesque waterfront town of Westport, Connecticut with no direction and no idea what she wants from life. She finds herself when she rents a cottage that needs plenty of work. She quickly realizes that she loves her slower-paced life and enjoys decorating houses.
She also enjoys spending time with her neighbor/landlord, Dominic. He is nothing like the men that she has dated before. He is confident and grounded and worships the ground his son walks on. They become friends and it quickly becomes more!
But, like most relationships, perfect can’t last forever. Though they enjoy spending time as a family, they meet each other's family and fate changes everything!
Though I spent the first few chapters wondering when Emma and Dominic are going to become more than friends, the truth is that I enjoyed this entire novel. I couldn’t put it down! I needed to know what was going to happen.
