A book review of Steal my Heart by Barbara Freethy.
Liz Palmer has her life all planned out. She graduated from high school and joined her father’s PR firm. She wanted make her dad proud, and then he got sick. After he left the firm, she wanted to continue to make him proud by working hard, even though it was an uphill battle.
If she wants to continue at the firm, she needs to bring in some extra business, so she finds herself at an amusement park with her high school nemesis, Michael Stafford, who is also bidding for the job.
He was the high school quarterback who was able to beat Liz in everything that she did. He went pro after high school, until an injury changed his entire life. Working for his sister, he is determined to help her firm grow.
The two spend some time together trying to understand the amusement park and owner, and find themselves realizing that, just maybe, they really did like each other in high school!
Like all of the other Freethy books I have read, I couldn’t wait to see if these two would figure out how they really feel!
