It might not go as smoothly as you would think.
In Emma’s Secret, we are thrilled that Emma is finally reunited with her family. Her mother Megan and the rest of the family are thrilled, yet they are surprised to find that their Emma isn’t the same girl who left them two years prior!
She is a quiet girl who doesn’t remember much about her family, if anything at all. In fact, she longs for her “grandparents,” the ones who took care of her those two years.
This makes Megan angry. She just wanted her daughter to come home, and now she is faced with the realization that her daughter lost the only life that she knew! Peter continues to work late in order to cope. Megan’s best friend also finds reasons to back away from her friend.
Then, Peter and Emma go into town and Peter has to make a choice that will change everything! He must put aside his own feelings in order to make Emma happy. He does this knowing how his wife would feel about it.
If you aren’t hooked by now, you are going to be by the end of this book. It is a good feeling to read about how the family learns to heal and grow, in ways that nobody ever expected!
