Exploring patterns between the heavens, history, and humanity.

“Perhaps there is a pattern set up in the heavens for one who desires to see it, and having seen it, to find one in himself.” — Plato
Whether we want to attribute it to unprecedented events or rare astrological alignments, the Earth is changing. It’s as if we have woken up from a slumber, and the dream that felt so life-like has disappeared from our minds.
We’re not in Kansas anymore. We are facing new realities coming at us from all directions. It feels overwhelming, exhilarating, terrifying, or thrilling.
There’s no right or wrong way to feel, but there is an opportunity to expand and evolve.
Think about a moment in time when you received information that changed everything. Maybe it brought hope or opened you up to something new. Maybe it rocked the foundation of your world. Perhaps all of the above.
Like the ocean’s waves, cosmic energies are crashing along the shores of Earth. It’s not that the celestial bodies and their cycles are doing anything to us, but instead, there are currents of energy flowing all around us. When we know which way the current is flowing, we can choose which way we want to swim. Or we learn why swimming upstream is so tiring.
The symbolism of the zodiac and the celestial bodies’ journey through it is a narrative that can clarify our current situations.
If we know it’s raining, we can choose to bring our umbrella, creating a dryer future. Everyone is going to have a different relationship with the rain. The point isn’t to plan our entire lives and around a weather prediction. It’s about looking outside to see the weather for ourselves.
When we have information, we become aware. When the lights are on, more information is available. Imagine sitting in a dark room and trying to understand our surroundings. It doesn’t work. But when the lights are on, we can learn and further our understanding of the world.
Throughout this decade, the Universe is turning on the lights. Think bright, blinding stadium lights. Everywhere we turn, there is more information than ever before. Lights can be blinding, and information can be overwhelming.
We are leveling up, and it’s not for the faint of heart. It is time to look at what needs repair. Remember, this doesn’t have to happen right away, but taking inventory and being honest with ourselves is the first step.
“Earth is like a demolition zone right now, and we all know these are dangerous places to hangout (especially if we’re unaware, walking around in flip flops, and neglecting to look at our surroundings). Right now, we don’t know what the next evolution of energy will bring?
Nonetheless, we can look at Pluto’s transit through Capricorn (2008–2024) like the Universe swinging a wrecking ball at how we have organized ourselves, both collective and individually.” ~Excerpt from Analogies, Energies & Celestial Bodies
Pluto in Capricorn Transit: Then and Now
This cycle is occurring from 2008–2024. The last time this transit happened was from 1762–1778.
It’s a time of transformation on a systemic level. Power dynamics are shifting, and in this fluctuating time, everything can feel out of control. It’s as if we are in a boat and have lost sight of the shore. It’s a new journey, and though we are in unknown waters, that’s where we need to be.
Institutions, establishments, control, and authority are often associated with Capricorn energy. Pluto is the planet of transformation. When the two unite, it’s a time of changing the system from the ground up. Pluto’s power is the raw truth. It’s the detective who exposes the facts and discovers who the criminal is. In many ways, since 2008, we’ve been learning who’s to blame.
By drawing parallels between current astrological cycles and when they occurred in the past, we can review underlying lessons.
History only repeats if we let it. We can learn from the past to do better in the present.
Then: The Industrial Revolution
Now: Think back to what kind of cell phone you had in 2008, and it’s easy to see the technological revolution we’ve been experiencing.
Then: American Revolution
Now: There’s a demand for change. From Arab spring in 2010, to Occupy Wall Street to Black Lives Matter. January’s storming of Capitol Hill is a further example of revolution.
Whether we want to believe it’s due to Pluto or not is irrelevant. We are in Earth-shaking times. This energy is overwhelming, so it’s not about rushing to fix everything and being the hero. It’s about taking it step by step and achieving massive goals in the process.
Ride the Wave
The Universe is leveling up, and we are all invited for the ride. If we know the breaks of the waves, surfing becomes less stressful and more graceful. Looking upwards to the cosmos and inwards to our intuitions can help us to navigate the crashing waves of information and emotion on the planet now.
