Seattle's eviction moratorium ends at the end of February. First-time renter here (fortunately haven't had a problem paying during this time) wondering what the moratorium actually managed to do, and why we'd want to extend it.

Is it that there are lots of people who still can't find rent relief programs? Or is it that King County couldn't find a long-term solution, and now there's too much pressure from landlords since they ate the cost of housing people for two years? After this pause to give people more time, King County is just going to let people in need get dumped back out onto the street? Feels like a lose-lose if the landlords are unhappy and lost money, but the actual families in need didn't even get a long-term solution.

Does anyone here know more about what the rent relief process is like or work for King County? Wondering what the actual result of this moratorium was, or if it was just a way to buy time...
