Salt & Straw is a widespread ice cream parlor known for its unique and inventive flavors. Two cousins decided to open an ice cream parlor.

They had never made ice cream before, let alone a recipe for homemade vanilla ice cream. Despite this, Tyler spent $16 on four pre-owned ice cream makers. They recently announced the opening of their third location in San Diego.

To celebrate, they are introducing a new flavor: roasted beets & goat cheese. This flavor is sure to be a hit amongst their loyal customers. The sweet beets and tart goat cheese create a unique flavor. Their skilled flavor pairing sets them apart from other ice cream parlors and will keep customers coming back for more.

This may sound like a strange combination for ice cream, but trust us when we say it's worth a try. This flavor debuted in Salt & Straw's 2018 Guest Chef Collaboration Series. Tyler Malek, the head ice cream innovator and co-founder of Salt & Straw, created it. Brian Malarkey, a Top Chef Contestant, was also involved.

But that's not all! Salt & Straw will also be featuring their Upcycled Food Series during June. This series is about reducing food waste and creating unique flavors from ingredients that would otherwise be thrown away. So not only will you be indulging in delicious ice cream, but you'll also be doing your part for the environment.

Salt & Straw is clear that no only do they desire to make unbelievable ice cream, but they are inspired to help others build connections while being a good neighbor, providing unforgettable hospitality, reducing food waste, and keeping it local.
