TEMPE, AZ - If you want to learn about the marvels of the sea right here in the desert, there are three fantastic aquariums to pick from in Tempe. These are excellent places to visit year-round for fun with the family and to keep the kids entertained for hours.

  • SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium

5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle, Ste 145 | 877-526-3960

In this aquarium, there is a fantastic 360-degree ocean tunnel that will captivate both children and adults, as well as child-size bubbles for a closer look at fish life and a gentle touch section where guests may gently touch specific marine animals. Check out the Colorado Rover Adventure and travel from the Rocky Mountains to the Sea of Cortez. This hands-on, interactive exhibit will help teach families about the importance of conserving Arizona's water.

  • OdySea Aquarium

9500 E. Via De Ventura, Ste. A-100 | 480-291-8000

The OdySea Aquarium is home to more than 30,000 animals that are placed in over 50 exhibits. The Living Sea Carousel, a ride that takes tourists through the Open Ocean, Sea Turtle, Sea Lion/Seal, and Shark displays, is available at this cutting-edge facility. Tickets to the OdySea Aquarium include admission to all OdySea exhibits, galleries, and the Underwater Giants movie. You may depart and re-enter the aquarium at any time during the day to enjoy OdySea in the Desert's restaurants, shopping, and entertainment.

  • Wildlife World Zoo Aquarium & Safari Park

16501 W. Northern Ave. | 623-935-9453

With over 600 species, Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium is home to Arizona's biggest collection of exotic animals. There are approximately 75 indoor exhibits at the Aquarium, including feeding stingrays, penguins, otters, and sharks, as well as rides and a petting zoo. If you travel during the cooler months, be sure to visit both the aquarium and the wildlife zoo for a full day of animal adventure.
