Kähvi Coffee + Cafe to open on July 12 at MonOrchid

PHOENIX, AZ — A new cafe inside the MonOrchid building on 214 E. Roosevelt Street, Roosevelt Row is about to open. It is "Kähvi Coffee + Cafe" that will hold a soft opening on Monday, July 12, 2021, at 7 a.m. They will serve coffee, beer, wine and light bites.

Brought by a twenty-year veteran chef Julian Wright of Fork & Dagger Hospitality, Kähvi Coffee + Cafe carries the theme of a "contemporary meets bohemian" atmosphere. It is Wright's second Downtown Phoenix concept after the "Luckys Indoor Outdoor" opened in December 2020. Wright will also launch two other restaurants inside MonOrchid including Sake Haus and the third location of Pedal Haus Brewery later this year.

Wright will be assisted with Samia Kohler as the operating partner, who has twelve years of experience in food and beverage including events management. Kähvi will be located at the gallery space at MonOrchid and will feature a 2,000 square-foot bar and cafe with element designs inspired by Tulum in southern Mexico that includes greeneries, rotating local arts, lounge areas and jewel stones.

“When I think of the ultimate getaway, my mind instantly goes to the laid-back beaches of Tulum,” Wright said in a press release. “Combine that with a European-style approach to coffee and dining culture, and you have the perfect retreat in the heart of Downtown Phoenix.”

Kähvi itself is from the Inarian language of indigenous Inari Sami people in Finland and has the meaning of "coffee." According to the International Coffee Organization, Finnish people consume more coffee than any other nation in the world.

Kähvi will serve seasonal blends with unique flavors, nitro-fused coffee and juices, and espresso beans from La Paz, Honduras. They will also serve light bites and lunch entrees such as salads, sandwiches with a French flair, and fresh-baked pastries from local bakery Hope's Artisan Bread.

Kähvi Coffee + Cafe will be open from Sunday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Visit their official website at
