PHOENIX, AZ — The Musical Instrument Museum invites you to attend a musical performance by Kira Brown and Scott Johnson, also known as Honeygirl, on Wednesday, June 16, and Thursday, June 17.
Honeygirl adds three chords, genuine truth, little fun, energy, and emotion to each performance. With modern and throwback country sounds, combined with bluesy riffs, a little humor, sticky pop jangles, rock edge, and more.
Honeygirl offers music enthusiasts diverse original songs penned by Kira Brown and Scotty “Honeyboy” Johnson (Gin Blossoms, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers) that take audiences on a journey from the very opening song to the end.
Brown, who was born and raised under the open skies of the desert Southwest, was once hailed herself as the “Kiraoke” queen. From karaoke contests to a genuine country musician singing and writing stories about love and life, Honeygirl has become a fan-favorite in the Arizona music scene.
Brown and Scott Johnson became a songwriting duo and band not long after they met, writing Honeygirl music and “Girl on the Side,” which appeared on the 2018 Gin Blossoms album, Mixed Reality.
