Richard Ramirez, often known as The Night Stalker, was a prolific and ruthless serial murderer who haunted the streets of Los Angeles in the 1980s. From June 1984 until August 1985, Ramirez was known as the "walk-in killer," invading houses and killing and sexually abusing individuals. He used a wide range of weapons and would leave demonic symbols behind.
Ramirez was captured after being overpowered by a group of people and assaulted before authorities arrived after finding prints on a stolen automobile and releasing a mugshot to the public. He was convicted on 13 charges of murder, five counts of attempted murder, 11 counts of sexual assault, and 14 counts of burglary, however it is believed that he committed many more crimes. He was sentenced to death, but died of cancer in jail in 2013 after serving 23 years on death row.

Post-Murder Snacks
If he got too comfortable after killing someone, he would help himself to food and beverages in the kitchen following his act. When he continued his killing spree in San Francisco, Bay Area cops said in the Netflix docuseries that he murdered an accountant named Peter Pan and sexually assaulted his wife Barbara, ate everything in the fridge, puked on the kitchen floor, and masturbated on the living room floor and then wrote a satanic symbol on the wall.
Child Abuse
Sadly, Ramirez did not even spare children. Earlier in his killing rampage, he took small children from their beds, abused them, and then abandoned them. In many situations, he would sexually attack a child he found in the residence during a burglary. One of the 6-year-old survivors would eventually play a critical role in identifying Ramirez.
Symbols of Satanism
It wasn't until Ramirez placed a pentagram on the wall and on the leg of a victim that authorities realized he was a Satanist. They were also afraid that maybe he was a copying the ways of Charles Manson. In the years that followed, he would leave more of these pentagrams and instruct his victims to "swear to Satan" rather than God. During a court appearance, he held up the pentagram and, after pleading not guilty, said, "Hail Satan".
